What We Do For Tenants.

We carry out assessments to help improve homes in your area. Here’s what you can expect.

What Is Retrofit?

Retrofit means upgrading existing homes to make them more energy efficient. Instead of building new houses, we improve older properties so they use less energy, stay warmer, and cost less to heat.

This is usually done by adding insulation, improving heating systems, reducing draughts, and upgrading windows or ventilation. These changes help your home retain heat better and feel more comfortable throughout the year.

Many retrofit projects are supported by local councils and housing providers to help homes become warmer, healthier, and more energy efficient.

How Will This Benefit You?

Here’s how these improvements will make a real difference to your home and daily life.

A Comfortable Home

Your home will stay warmer for longer, especially during the colder months. This means you’ll feel more comfortable without needing to turn the heating up as high.

Healthier Living

Retrofit improvements can help reduce damp, condensation, and mould. This creates a healthier home, which is especially beneficial for families, older residents, and anyone with respiratory conditions.

Lower Energy Bills

By making your home more energy efficient, you should see a reduction in your heating costs. Many tenants notice their energy bills becoming more manageable.

 Great Overall Wellbeing

You’ll experience fewer draughts, more consistent room temperatures, and better air quality. This makes everyday living more pleasant and can improve your quality of life at home.

How Does The Process Work?

We’ve made the process simple and straightforward. Here’s what you can expect:

1. First Contact

We will contact you to arrange a convenient time for a Retrofit Assessment at your home. This call is simply to book the appointment and answer any questions you may have.

3. Next Steps

Once the assessment is complete, we will review the findings and produce a report. Your Housing Provider will then contact you with the results and explain what happens next. This may include information about any improvement works, funding, or further steps.

2. We Visit You

A qualified assessor will visit your home to carry out a detailed survey. They will look at things like insulation, heating, windows, and ventilation. The visit usually takes between 1 and 2 hours. You don’t need to do anything to prepare.

Frequently Asked Questions.

Do I need to clean or move my furniture before you arrive?

Not at all. We just need clear paths to look at your heating system, windows, and meters. You do not need to do any heavy lifting or deep cleaning for us.

How long will it take, and do I have to stay the whole time?

A typical assessment takes between 1 and 2 hours depending on the size of your home. An adult over the age of 18 must be present in the property for the entire duration.

Will my rent or council tax go up because of this assessment?

Absolutely not. This survey is completely free for you. It is funded by your housing provider to help improve your home, and it will never increase your rent or tax

Will this make my energy bills more expensive?

No. The goal of this assessment is to help your housing provider plan upgrades (like better insulation or modern heating) that will actually make your home easier and cheaper to keep warm.

Why are you taking photos of my home? Where do they go?

We take photos of things like your boiler, windows, and insulation to prove the current condition of the building to the energy regulators. We never share these publicly, and we always protect your personal privacy.

What happens if I need to change or reschedule my appointment?

We know life happens. You can easily reschedule by calling our team  and we will find a time that works perfectly for you.
